On Tuesday 15th May 2018, the Scottish Parliament voted by majority to reject the UK Withdrawal Bill and refuse the UK Government consent to retain powers initially devolved to the Scottish Parliament from Brussels once the UK has left the EU.
Council recognises and congratulates the Scottish Parliament in making such a bold move in defending Scotland’s devolution settlement; condemns the Conservative UK Government in Westminster of disrespecting democracy and calls on that UK Government to respect the principles of the devolution settlement and to back down from this so called “Power Grab”.
