Devolution of Refugee Settlement

Conference notes that it is the duty of the international community to help those displaced by war and terror. Conference highly commends the work of the Scottish Government, local authorities and charities in supporting refugees fleeing terror, persecution and poverty.

Conference condemns the failing of the UK Government in its domestic and international response to this worldwide crisis. Conference recognises that there have never been more refugees worldwide since World War II. Conference additionally recognises that Scotland welcomes immigration and diversity as strength to our society.

Therefore Conference calls for the devolution of Refugee Settlement from Westminster to Holyrood in order for Scotland to have the scope and powers to perform its moral duty to the international community.
